About me

Hi, I’m Georg!

Working more mindfully, learning more sustainably, being more mindful in my productivity – these are the guiding questions that shape my everyday life; ultimately, I’m trying to understand the world a little better.

I love delving into topics and getting into a flow. If I can take you along on this learning journey for a while, that would be a wonderful gift for me.

Welcome to my digital garden. This isn't a place for finished answers—it's an open space where ideas are free to grow. Inspired by Richard Feynman's "12 Favorite Problems," I cultivate what I call Frageatmosphären—atmospheres of inquiry.

Following Rilke's invitation, I try to live the questions themselves. Take a moment, follow whatever path calls to you, and see where your interest leads—and if my thoughts resonate, I'd be happy to welcome you to my newsletter.

What I do

My educational journey

It all began with philosophy and biology – two disciplines that, at first glance, seem to have little in common. Yet it is precisely this combination that continues to shape my thinking to this day: looking closely, seeking connections, and asking questions that lie beneath the surface.

After studying at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and the University of Basel, and gaining initial experience in ethical research projects, I moved into the classroom in 2012. Since then, as a vocational school teacher, I have been supporting young people – and I notice time and again that effective learning processes emerge where structure and curiosity come together.

In over 100 training courses, I have shown teachers and learners not only how digital tools work, but also how they can transform the way we work. As project manager for the digitalisation project at Basel-Stadt primary schools, I experienced what it means to set an entire organisation in motion.

At some point, it became clear to me: I’m not interested in the tools themselves. I’m interested in how people organise, link and use their knowledge – how they shape their personal learning and working environment. That’s how I specialised as a Notion and M365 expert.

I continued along this path with the CAS in New Work at the HWZ – focusing on how technology, people and working environments interact.

Today, I call myself a Digital Gardener. Not because it sounds trendy, but because it describes what I do: cultivating digital knowledge, fostering connections and supporting people in shaping and maintaining their own knowledge landscape.
